How it works

1

Motor in the headrail

A compact motor sits inside the blind's headrail or roller. No visible mechanism, no cords near children.

2

Choose your control

Remote, wall switch, smartphone app, or voice assistant. Match it to how you actually live in the space.

3

Optional smart integration

Link to your smart-home platform for schedules, sunlight sensors, or scenes that run automatically.

Common questions

Which windows are worth motorising?

Any window that's large, hard-to-reach, or operated frequently. On a small bathroom blind the benefit is minimal; on a west-facing living-room wall or a bedroom you want to blackout in the morning, it's a real quality-of-life change.

How much more does motorised cost than manual?

A meaningful premium, but the price gap has closed a lot in recent years. Stella provides an exact figure per window during the quote — usually it's worth it on select windows rather than the whole home.

Do I need special maintenance?

No routine maintenance for the motor itself. Battery systems need a replacement every one to two years; rechargeable systems need charging when the app tells you. Hardwired systems need nothing beyond the blind itself.

Can I retro-fit motorisation to a blind I already have?

Sometimes — depends on the blind type and headrail. For roller and Zebra blinds it's often possible; for Roman, Venetian, and Honeycomb it usually means a new blind. Stella will assess and advise.
